James Webb Space Telescope UK Public Engagement Campaign and Data Protection

At STFC (being a Council under, and part of, United Kingdom Research and Innovation), we intend to make sure that we maintain the UK as a world-leader in science and technology research, development and engagement- integral to this is our commitment to protecting and safeguarding your data privacy.

It is part of STFC’s public purpose to engage with the scientific community and the wider public in the promotion of scientific development and innovation, the exchange of ideas and the advancement of scientific research. In order to effectively engage with these groups on these matters we need to collect and hold contact and relevant associated information about people like you. We will only send you communications which we consider to be of interest to you, within the remit of our public purpose.

The James Webb Space Telescope UK Public Engagement Campaign is a collaborative project, led by the Science and Technology Facilities and jointly delivered with the UK Space Agency with the purpose of promoting awareness and interest in the James Webb Space Telescope using content developed by a large number of national partners.

Email address – this is the email address we use to send newsletters, details of upcoming events and activities and information and updates on the James Webb Space Telescope.

Who your information is shared with

The personal information you provide is held by STFC and shared with The Institute for Astronomy for the purposes of maintaining the mailing list.

We may use carefully selected third party services to manage and hold your data and manage, send and receive communications on our behalf. We will not share your information with anyone else.
